DTN Weekly Average DDG Price Still Moving Lower
MINNEAPOLIS (DTN) -- The average DTN spot price for domestic distillers dried grains (DDG) from 33 locations reporting for the week ended June 25 was $152 per ton on average, down $6 on average versus one week ago. Demand is still poor from some end users switching out DDG, along with overall lack of interest right now.
DDG prices were lower on average for the week with some plants continuing to post sharply lower prices. The cash corn price was lower versus last week with DTN National Average Corn Index down 6 cents per bushel. Soybean meal prices fell early in the week but recovered versus one week ago, up $3.70.

Based on the average of prices collected by DTN, the value of DDG relative to corn for the week ended June 25 was 1.026%. The value of DDG relative to soybean meal was 49.84% and the cost per unit of protein for DDG was $5.63 compared to the cost per unit of protein for soybean meal at $6.42.
U.S. Grains and Bioproducts Council in its weekly distillers dried grains with solubles (DDGS) export market prices report, showed these July prices as of June 25 that have dropped as well: CIF NOLA barge price was down $10 at $199 metric ton (mt) versus on week ago; FOB vessel Gulf price was down $1 at $235 mt; rail delivered PNW was down $15 at $216; and rail delivered to California was down $12 at $223 mt.
Ethanol production in the United States averaged 1.09 million barrels per day (bpd) in the week ended June 19, the Energy Information Administration reported Wednesday. That is down 12,000 bpd week-on-week and 9,000 bpd, or 0.8%, higher than in the same week last year. The four-week average output at 1.102 million bpd was 2,000 bpd below the same four weeks last year. Midwest ethanol production averaged 1.037 million bpd, down 4,000 bpd week-on-week and 14,000 bpd, or 1.4%, higher than in the same week last year. Four-week average output at 1.044 million bpd was 1,000 bpd below the same four weeks last year.
