Spot Ethanol Prices Lifted by Demand, Higher RBOB Futures
Spot ethanol prices were boosted Monday by a burst of short-term buying interest and on higher New York Mercantile Exchange RBOB futures, with one source saying that "Margins are good, gasoline is up and so it's a good day for ethanol guys." Prompt ethanol supply at the Argo supply hub in the Chicago market traded at $1.5575 per gallon, up 2.75 cents.
Chicago ethanol traded under Rule 11 for this week shipment traded at $1.5225 per gallon for a 4.25 cents gain on the session. September barges at the New York Harbor traded at $1.60 per gallon, up 1.0 cent on the day. October barges at the Harbor traded at $1.585 per gallon, up 5.5 cents on the day.
