Spot ethanol prices advanced in early trade Wednesday, with cash values for physical supply climbing on bullish data released this morning by the Energy Information Administration showing an inventory drawdown and higher demand.

Prompt delivered ethanol at the Argo supply hub in the Chicago market was pegged at $1.61 per gallon for a 1.5-cents gain. Chicago ethanol under Rule 11 for this week shipment traded at $1.61 per gallon, up 3.0 cents on the day.
