Short Covering Pushes Chicago Spot Ethanol to Six-month High
Spot ethanol prices in Chicago traded at a six-month high on Tuesday, boosted by short-covering and gains in RBOB and corn futures markets.
Other trade hubs including New York were discussed higher. Today delivered ethanol at the Argo hub in the Chicago market traded at $1.58 and $1.585 per gallon, up 1.5 cents, with any May delivered ethanol trading at $1.585 per gallon for a gain of 1.5 cents.
Chicago ethanol under Rule 11 for this week shipment traded at $1.58 per gallon, up 1.0 cents. Chicago swaps for June traded at $1.585 per gallon while July swaps traded at $1.58 per gallon.
