U.S. Spot Ethanol Prices Under Early Selling Pressure

Spot ethanol prices moved lower Monday as easing worries over supply prompted profit taking in early trade, with sources expecting federal data set for release Dec. 17 to show inventories extended higher during the week-ended Dec. 12.

Today transfer ethanol at Argo near Chicago traded at $1.94 per gallon, down 12 cents for the day. January New York Harbor barge was talked at a $1.84 to $1.94 per gallon bid/ask spread for a 10-cents daily loss. Prompt ethanol delivered to northern California was offered at $2.15 per gallon, down 4.0 cents on the day.
