The 14th Class of America's Best Young Farmers and Ranchers met recently in Austin, Texas to receive awards, attend family business workshops and receive a briefing at the John Deere Innovation Hub. They are being featured in the coming days both in the December issue of Progressive Farmer magazine and on these pages on DTNPF.com. Pictured are (back row, left to right): Tyler Knott, Brad Laack, Bryant Kagay, Abbie Bryant, Kasey Bamberger, Heath Bryant and Brad Bamberger; (front row, left to right): Megan Knott, Nicole Laack, Rachel Kagay and Rachel Arneson. One of the projects we're particularly proud of at DTN and Progressive Farmer magazine is our America's Best Young Farmers and Ranchers awards. The 14th annual class of award winners were announced in mid-November, and we'll be carrying features on them and their operations in the coming days. Look for the America's Best Young Farmers and Ranchers headlines in our Top Stories area and also in the Magazine section on DTNPF.com, which is here: https://www.dtnpf.com/….

If you are a Progressive Farmer magazine subscriber, you'll soon be receiving your December issue, which also features the full package of stories and photos on these smart, successful ag leaders. The special project is headed up by DTN Senior Editor Dan Miller, with help from Social Media and Young Farmer Editor Susan Payne and photography by Senior Editor Joel Reichenberger, along with the help of some others on the photography, video and design side, with the goal of recognizing the farmers and ranchers who best represent the pioneering promises of American agriculture.

Check out this week's Reporter's Notebook video with Miller on https://www.dtnpf.com/… where he talks more about the 2024 winners, as well as how people can apply to be next year's class of winners.

The class of 2024 are: Tyler and Megan Knott, Knott Land and Livestock, Oak Creek, Colorado; Bryant and Rachel Kagay, Kagay Farms, Maysville, Missouri; Kasey Bamberger and Heath Bryant, Bryant Agricultural Enterprise, Washington Court House, Ohio; Rachel Arneson, Arneson Farms, Halstad, Minnesota; and Brad Laack, Lake Effect Farms, Sheboygan Falls, Wisconsin. The initial story on these five operations is here: https://www.dtnpf.com/….

A video collage of their operations will also be featured during this year's DTN Virtual Ag Summit, which goes live Tuesday, Dec. 5. The event which continues over two half-day programs, was designed to "Fortify your Financial Foundation." The Summit is free and registration includes the ability to both watch the sessions live on the 5th and 6th, as well as watch rebroadcasts into the future. But as a reminder, you need to register ahead of the event in order to get access to the rebroadcasts. So, sign up soon, it only takes a few minutes and will give you hours' worth of food for thought and concrete ideas as you start thinking about the 2024 season. I hope you'll join us!
