Ag World at Your Fingertips
There are a lot of claims from folks wanting to be the "one stop shop" to just about everything. It's a tough goal to meet.
The staff at The Progressive Farmer may have truly filled that billing, with their new Digital Resource Guide, which can be found at http://www.dtnpf-digital.com/….
The guide, which will be periodically updated as new information and products come on the marketplace, is the first comprehensive on-line resource of everything agriculture. Progressive Farmer Editor-in-Chief Gregg Hillyer and his team did their homework -- this isn't just a list of the usual suspects. Categories range from major and short-line equipment manufacturers to crop insurance and financial services. Given all the farm shows and similar events I've walked through, the truckloads of brochures, press releases and emails that we ag journalists get from anyone who makes anything for agriculture, I was impressed to find a lot of products, services -- and even companies -- that I wasn't familiar with.
The resource will be a valuable bookmark on your computer, laptop, tablet and smartphone. I find it especially helpful on my smartphone. Whether I'm looking for a specific product or service, or answering a "who else makes one of those things" question, the Digital Resource Guide is much faster than sorting through pages of unwanted search engine results.
The guide also includes an updated list of farm shows and similar events, as well as access to digital versions of The Progressive Farmer magazine. If you have not read the magazine digitally, and you must be a subscriber to do so, you're missing another great resource that's always as close as your touch screen.
