Spot ethanol prices moved higher Friday in the New York Harbor and in Chicago, boosted by talk of robust short-term demand at home and abroad as well as on higher RBOB and corn futures on the New York Mercantile Exchange and Chicago Board of Trade, respectively.

Ethanol-blended gasoline use is also seen up ahead of this year's Thanksgiving holiday that's expected to see the busiest travel for the holiday in a dozen years, according to AAA. Volume was high ahead of the weekend.

Prompt supply ethanol at the Argo terminal in the Chicago market and ethanol shipped to other parts of the country under Rule 11 terms were both up 1.5 cents at $1.39 per gallon. November barged ethanol at the New York Harbor was talked at $1.485 per gallon, up 0.5 cent on the day.
