Spot Ethanol Prices in Chicago Tumble on Profit-Taking
Spot ethanol prices fell by 3.0cts in Chicago and fractionally in Houston, with renewable credits known as Renewable Identification Numbers also taking a tumble on Friday amid profit-taking ahead of the weekend break, explained a trade source. Prompt supply fuel ethanol at the Argo terminal in the Chicago market traded at $1.435 gallon for a loss of 3.0cts on the session, while ethanol under Rule 11 terms for this week transport was talked at a $1.40 to $1.42 gallon bid/ask spread, tumbling 4.0cts on the session. In the Gulf Coast, barged or rail ethanol supply in Houston was discussed down 0.5cts at $1.52 gallon.
