Spot Ethanol Prices Trade Higher on Supply Concerns

U.S. spot ethanol prices rose early Monday on tight supply concerns and talk of growing export demand. Prompt ethanol supply at the Argo hub in the Chicago market traded at $1.665 per gallon, up 0.50 cents, any October Argo traded at $1.65 per gallon, up 2.0 cents, November supply was pegged at $1.57.

Chicago ethanol supply traded under Rule 11 for prompt shipment traded at $1.64, up 1.5 cents. October ethanol barges at the New York Harbor were talked at $1.705, up 0.5 cents, and November Harbor barges were talked in a $1.67 to $1.695 per gallon bid/ask spread, up 1.5 cents. Prompt ethanol supply in Virginia and North Carolina were both offered at $1.80 per gallon while in Georgia and Florida ethanol was offered at $1.77 per gallon.
