Spot Ethanol Prices Little Changed in Thin Trade

Spot ethanol prices were little changed in thin trade Wednesday, with no discernible impact from higher corn and gasoline futures or a report issued Wednesday showing ethanol stocks fell last week. Flooding in Houston has slowed deliveries to the area, but the West Coast market has been under pressure from excess supply. The Energy Information Administration's data for the week-ended April 15 was considered a non-event.

Sources said prompt delivered ethanol at the Argo supply hub traded at $1.5625 gallon, down 0.25 cent. Chicago ethanol traded under Rule 11 for this week shipment was unchanged at $1.54 and $1.56 gallon bid/ask. Ethanol barges for May shipment to New York Harbor traded at $1.63 gallon.
