Spot Ethanol Prices Gain as U.S. Production Drops
Spot ethanol prices edged higher Wednesday after an unexpected decline in domestic production. The Energy Information Administration released data Wednesday for the week-ended Dec. 18 showing U.S. ethanol production fell by 27,000 bpd or 2.7% to 973,000 bpd while down 2.0% year-on-year.
Prompt delivered Argo ethanol was talked at a $1.37 to $1.38 per gallon bid/ask, down 1.5 cents. New York Harbor prompt barges were talked at $1.455 per gallon, up 1.5 cents on the day.
