Spot ethanol prices were discussed a penny lower in Chicago and New York and West Coast trade hubs, falling on the back of lower corn and gasoline futures and ahead of weekly data that's expected to show another increase in domestic ethanol production.

Trade volume was thin. Prompt Argo ethanol was penned down a penny at $1.38 per gallon while New York Harbor January barges were talked down 2.0 cents at $1.45 per gallon. This week ethanol shipment to Arizona was pegged down a penny at $1.46 per gallon.
