Cash Ethanol Prices Boosted by Bullish EIA Supply Data
Spot ethanol prices gained slightly Wednesday after the U.S. Energy Information Administration reported domestic ethanol inventories fell 100,000 bbl to 18.9 million bbl during the week-ended Oct. 16, while demand rose 10,000 bpd to a seven-week high of 897,000 bpd.
Prompt delivered ethanol at the Argo hub near Chicago was talked at a $1.53 to $1.55 per gallon bid/ask for a gain of 1.0 cent, while New York Harbor October barges were pegged 1.0 cent higher at $1.67 per gallon. This week delivered ethanol in northern California was penciled at $1.70 per gallon, up a penny.
