Spot Ethanol Prices Boosted by Demand, Corn Futures Rally
Spot ethanol prices extended prior week gains in early trade Monday on improved demand and higher Chicago Board of Trade July corn futures. The corn market is driven today by higher wheat prices that rallied on short covering.
Prompt transfer ethanol at the Argo terminal near Chicago was talked at $1.70 per gallon, up 1.0 cents, while Chicago ethanol traded under Rule 11 was offered 1.5 cents higher at $1.72 per gallon.
New York Harbor barges were pegged 4.0 cents higher at $1.77 per gallon while this week transfer ethanol in California was talked 1.0 cents higher at $1.85 per gallon. Pacific Northwest spot ethanol traded at $1.83 per gallon for a 1.5 cents gain.
