Chicago, NYH Spot Biodiesel Flat on Day, DN 5cts on Week

Spot biodiesel prices at the key hubs of Chicago and New York Harbor were flat in early trade Friday with values tumbling 5.0cts on the week in thin markets while producers continue to struggle with negative profit margins.

"Biodiesel is so thin and margins are so bad that many are having a tough time moving product," commented a biodiesel broker Thursday morning.

By late Thursday, "sellers got a little more aggressive," a broker asserted, as prices fell 6.0cts that day at Chicago and the Harbor.

The latest bid/ask range was $3.62 to $3.72 gallon for SME B100 at both Chicago and New York Harbor, unchanged on the session and down 5.0cts since the prior Friday's closing value. Houston SME B100 biodiesel were pegged at a $3.625 gallon, flat on the day and week.
