Spot Ethanol Prices Gain on Tightening Supply, Demand Up

U.S. spot ethanol prices were talked slightly higher in early trade Monday as summer blending demand is expected to run ahead of supply, according to trade sources.

This week in-tank transfer ethanol at the Kinder Morgan-operated Argo terminal near Chicago was talked at a $2.43 to $2.47 gallon bid/ask spread, up 0.5 cents on the day, while a prompt barge transit to the New York Harbor was talked at a $2.53 to $2.56 gallon bid/ask spread, up 2.5 cents on the session. In the market for ethanol compliance credits, D6 Renewable Identification Numbers for 2013 were talked at $1.03 to $1.05, up 2.5 cents.
