Spot ethanol prices rose in light early trading Tuesday as traders stepped up buying interest ahead of weekly federal supply data due out Wednesday morning.

Prompt ethanol at the Argo hub near Chicago changed hands at $2.49 gallon, up nearly 1.4 cents on the session, while a prompt barge transit to the New York Harbor was talked at a $2.55 to $2.57 gallon bid/ask spread, up 2 cents on the day.
