Georgia Governor Sonny Perdue's nomination to become USDA secretary continues to move slowly.

The White House filed the financial disclosure documents for Sonny Perdue with the Senate on Friday, a Senate Agriculture Committee spokersperson has informed DTN Political Correspondent Jerry Hagstrom.

George E. “Sonny” Perdue, a former Republican governor of Georgia, is President Donald Trump’s nominee for Agriculture secretary.

A Trump transition spokesperson said that all the paperwork needed by the Senate Agriculture Committee was filed Friday, and that the next step is up to the committee, Hagstrom reported in his newsletter on Sunday.

Senate Agriculture Committee Chairman Pat Roberts, R-Kan., has said he could not schedule a confirmation on Perdue until the committee received more information.

Reports filed include Perdue's financial disclosure and an ethics letter in which Perdue details how he will avoid financial conflicts of interest

But the spokesperson said it is unlikely a hearing will be held until the week of March 20 because the committee will need a few days to review the paperwork, and the Senate will not be in session on Thursday and Friday.

On Friday, communications staff on the Senate Agriculture stated the committee has not received all of Perdue's paperwork. Still missingwere the two key parts of the paperwork, the FBI background report and the ethics paperwork.

I am not surprised comrade Bonnie, Putin hates judicial systems and the free press as much as your El Presidente does!

Is it possible that they are awaiting the final ok from Putin?
