TREND: The trend for September corn is down.
NONCOMMERCIAL OUTLOOK: Noncommercial corn traders held a net-short futures position of 141,762 contracts as of July 8, a decrease of 13,764 contracts as sellers had briefly paused selling and taken some profits on short positions ahead of the Fourth of July break.
COMMERCIAL OUTLOOK: Commercial corn traders held a net-long position of 165,664 contracts as of July 8, a decrease of 8,596 contracts week over week. The September 2025 contract is priced 16 cents lower than the December 2025 contract, a spread that narrowed slightly over the past week.
