USDA Herreid, SD Wtd Averages 09/19 14:15 AMS_2024 MARS Herreid Livestock Market - Herreid, SD Herreid Livestock Market-Herreid,SD Livestock Weighted Average Report for 09/19/2025 - Final Auction This Week Last Reported Last Year ------------------------------------------------------------ Total Receipts: ------------------------------------------------------------ FEEDER CATTLE 2430 2734 4387 Compared to last week: best test on steers 850 to 899 lbs and 950 to 999 lbs 4.00 to 6.00 lower. Heifers not well compared again his week. Good to very good demand for yearlings, many of which sold in strings and loads. Most of the cattle came off grass, just a handful of lot cattle, and flesh ranged from light to some moderate plus. Quality varied today, especially on packages. Some mud on the cattle today due to rain the last few days, but they still had plenty of eye appeal. An active market with buyers taking multiple loads quite often, however, slightly less determination than seen in recent weeks. A positive day for live and feeder cattle today, however, the up and down of the last couple weeks has put some pressure on the market. Sunny conditions expected next week, quite a bit of rain has fallen in this area the last three days. Next feeder cattle sale is Friday, September 26. --------------------------------------------------------------- FEEDER CATTLE --------------------------------------------------------------- HEIFERS - Large 1 (Per Cwt/Actual) Head Wt Range Avg Wt Price Range Avg Price 27 1101-1101 1101 303-303 303 HEIFERS - Medium and Large 1 (Per Cwt/Actual) Head Wt Range Avg Wt Price Range Avg Price 186 736-745 741 366-375 373.57 45 778-796 785 356-370 361.51 5 840-840 840 338-338 338 47 851-891 865 337.5-343.5 339.88 10 947-947 947 322.5-322.5 322.5 143 952-999 975 321.5-332 327.03 HEIFERS - Medium and Large 1-2 (Per Cwt/Actual) Head Wt Range Avg Wt Price Range Avg Price 30 683-683 683 335-335 335 STEERS - Large 1 (Per Cwt/Actual) Head Wt Range Avg Wt Price Range Avg Price 73 1013-1018 1015 331.5-342.5 337.36 149 1064-1067 1066 336-339 338.04 STEERS - Medium and Large 1 (Per Cwt/Actual) Head Wt Range Avg Wt Price Range Avg Price 30 682-682 682 420-420 420 11 741-741 741 402-402 402 66 799-799 799 387-387 387 147 819-846 842 373-376.75 376.48 380 871-888 881 365.5-376 370.66 129 935-947 944 345-355.25 354.86 767 955-986 963 351-355.25 352.35 STEERS - Medium and Large 1-2 (Per Cwt/Actual) Head Wt Range Avg Wt Price Range Avg Price 15 863-863 863 355-355 355 8 958-958 958 335-335 335

AgHost Livestock Close

AgHost Livestock Close

It started as a dismal day and ended as a dismal day for the livestock complex, as the markets never found the support they were looking for throughout Thursday's hours. Bids were offered throughout the day in the cash complex, but no new trade developed.
