USDA Herreid, SD Wtd Averages 11/14 17:20 AMS_2024 MARS Herreid Livestock Market - Herreid, SD Herreid Livestock Market-Herreid,SD Livestock Weighted Average Report for 11/14/2025 - Final Auction This Week Last Reported Last Year ------------------------------------------------------------ Total Receipts: ------------------------------------------------------------ FEEDER CATTLE 4892 4498 5858 Compared to last week: yearling cattle not well compared. Steer calves 450 to 499 lbs 15.00 to 20.00 lower, 500 to 549 lbs unevenly steady, 550 to 599 lbs 6.00 to 9.00 higher, 600 to 649 lbs 3.00 lower. Heifer calves 450 to 549 lbs 15.00 to 20.00 higher. Good demand for yearlings today. A couple long strings, one of steers and one of heifers, made up the majority of the yearling offering, all coming out of yards. A few tested open heifers rounded out the offering, some of these still came off grass. Flesh moderate plus to heavy on yard cattle, mostly moderate to moderate plus on the few grass cattle. Moderate to good demand for calves. A handful of loads and many packages made up the calf offering, most coming off the cow. Quality and preconditioning varied quite a bit and buyers are willing to overlook a poor shot record but only on attractive quality calves. Plainer calves and those without good shots are a much a harder to find homes for. Most calves in light to moderate flesh. An active market on yearlings, even those with extra flesh, as buyers know yearling cattle are almost gone. A moderate to active market on calves with both buyers and farmer feeders in the seats for these. The futures complex had another week of ups and downs further adding to the uncertainty already present in the market. Next feeder cattle sale is Friday, November 21. This will be the last sale before Thanksgiving. --------------------------------------------------------------- FEEDER CATTLE --------------------------------------------------------------- HEIFERS - Large 1 (Per Cwt/Actual) Head Wt Range Avg Wt Price Range Avg Price 295 1026-1045 1034 299.5-301.25 299.82 HEIFERS - Medium and Large 1 (Per Cwt/Actual) Head Wt Range Avg Wt Price Range Avg Price 7 340-340 340 485-485 485 78 369-396 389 460-465 461.22 21 407-443 421 417-421 419.4 235 451-491 462 395-438.5 425.39 103 512-512 512 445-445 445 Replacement 98 523-528 527 380-415 407.75 218 550-593 561 347-393 379.12 46 633-635 634 349-357 351.02 108 680-698 695 356-359 358.54 80 790-790 790 325.25-325.25 325.25 170 915-943 932 289.5-299.5 294.1 79 952-993 959 299-299.5 299.38 HEIFERS - Medium and Large 1-2 (Per Cwt/Actual) Head Wt Range Avg Wt Price Range Avg Price 45 470-496 485 370-385 372.71 10 538-538 538 362.5-362.5 362.5 13 551-551 551 331-331 331 24 761-761 761 309-309 309 STEERS - Large 1 (Per Cwt/Actual) Head Wt Range Avg Wt Price Range Avg Price 51 1005-1005 1005 299.75-299.75 299.75 Fleshy 487 1010-1049 1027 306.5-327.75 322.96 222 1111-1144 1128 292.5-313 306.74 108 582-591 583 387-393 392.04 STEERS - Medium and Large 1 (Per Cwt/Actual) Head Wt Range Avg Wt Price Range Avg Price 28 361-375 368 550-575 563.16 26 423-449 443 440-445 443.9 216 452-454 453 509-509 509 Fancy 145 467-489 480 450-478 465.35 229 526-545 530 428-461 453.9 272 558-589 575 407-432 423.26 239 613-649 626 369-402.5 393.12 80 660-667 665 381-383 382.43 177 716-741 726 358-377.5 374.3 238 916-949 935 311-328 324.08 243 950-962 957 328-328 328 STEERS - Medium and Large 1-2 (Per Cwt/Actual) Head Wt Range Avg Wt Price Range Avg Price 7 374-374 374 510-510 510 26 476-494 484 392.5-437.5 427.41 STEERS - Medium and Large 2 (Per Cwt/Actual) Head Wt Range Avg Wt Price Range Avg Price 48 458-458 458 355-355 355
