USDA Hub City Livestock Wtd Averages 10/29 17:00 AMS_2020 MARS Hub City Livestock Auction - Aberdeen, SD Hub City Livestock Auction-Aberdeen,SD Livestock Weighted Average Report for 10/29/2025 - Final Auction This Week Last Reported Last Year ------------------------------------------------------------ Total Receipts: ------------------------------------------------------------ FEEDER CATTLE 3740 4833 3596 Compared to last week: best test on yearling steers 950 to 999 lbs 18.00 to 20.00 lower, yearling heifers not well compared. Steer calves 500 to 599 lbs 26.00 to 30.00 lower. Heifer calves 500 to 549 lbs 15.00 to 20.00 lower on a narrow comparison, 550 to 599 lbs 10.00 lower. Good demand for yearlings today with best demand seen for those few yearlings still coming off grass in light to moderate flesh. A few strings and quite a few loads of yearlings on offer with about one third of these coming off grass. Yard cattle in moderate plus to heavy flesh at times. Moderate to good demand for calves. Similar to last week, there was quite a variation in calf quality and combined with vaccination history determined how much interest buyers had in purchasing calves. Some are willing to take a chance on an unvaccinated calf but for quite a bit less money. Mostly packages of calves today with just a few loads, the majority coming off the cow. A mostly active market on yearlings, moderate to active on calves. Both live and feeder cattle futures posted decent gains today but so much of the earlier confidence has been shaken and buyers and farmer feeders are very cautious about procuring calves in this uncertain market. Corn harvest is chugging away with much of the corn needing to be dried as it comes off the field. Next feeder cattle sale is Wednesday, November 5. --------------------------------------------------------------- FEEDER CATTLE --------------------------------------------------------------- BULLS - Medium and Large 1 (Per Cwt/Actual) Head Wt Range Avg Wt Price Range Avg Price 6 341-341 341 565-565 565 14 436-436 436 495-495 495 10 460-460 460 445-445 445 HEIFERS - Large 1 (Per Cwt/Actual) Head Wt Range Avg Wt Price Range Avg Price 109 1011-1026 1019 317.5-330.5 323.53 18 1040-1040 1040 299.5-299.5 299.5 Fleshy 122 1056-1059 1058 294-299.5 299.14 HEIFERS - Medium and Large 1 (Per Cwt/Actual) Head Wt Range Avg Wt Price Range Avg Price 9 311-311 311 505-505 505 13 386-386 386 452.5-452.5 452.5 42 401-437 415 445-460 452.92 110 450-499 478 405-420 415.82 84 513-536 522 385-425 412.33 21 562-562 562 475-475 475 Replacement 112 561-587 570 415-447.5 433.51 13 600-600 600 387.5-387.5 387.5 21 602-640 622 332-338 335.23 Fleshy 29 681-681 681 397-397 397 166 741-743 742 351-351 351 79 795-795 795 326-326 326 245 834-844 838 340.5-343.75 341.32 65 902-902 902 335.75-335.75 335.75 113 963-976 969 330-332 331.09 HEIFERS - Medium and Large 1-2 (Per Cwt/Actual) Head Wt Range Avg Wt Price Range Avg Price 9 308-308 308 405-405 405 7 396-396 396 385-385 385 11 419-428 424 405-420 413.26 38 585-585 585 392-392 392 13 601-601 601 315.5-315.5 315.5 29 650-650 650 339-339 339 21 895-895 895 307-307 307 STEERS - Large 1 (Per Cwt/Actual) Head Wt Range Avg Wt Price Range Avg Price 56 1008-1008 1008 348.75-348.75 348.75 105 1070-1092 1081 316-316 316 Fleshy STEERS - Medium and Large 1 (Per Cwt/Actual) Head Wt Range Avg Wt Price Range Avg Price 8 361-361 361 570-570 570 38 433-448 442 525-565 539.42 16 454-454 454 528-528 528 254 509-546 527 467-502.5 479.6 202 555-594 566 435-471 455.27 163 607-639 628 382.5-415 406.69 107 655-697 663 369-407 394.2 77 702-703 702 387-388 387.48 117 921-933 927 352-352 352 425 953-998 980 331-354.5 345.54 STEERS - Medium and Large 1-2 (Per Cwt/Actual) Head Wt Range Avg Wt Price Range Avg Price 6 391-391 391 500-500 500 26 408-408 408 517.5-517.5 517.5 20 471-483 481 425-425 425 38 519-542 530 422.5-462.5 443.12 94 581-592 587 405-425 418.24

DTN Ag Host Midday Livestock

DTN Ag Host Midday Livestock

It's been a quiet morning for the livestock complex as the cattle contracts are trading slightly higher, but the lean hog contracts are still trading lower as demand remains weak. There are some bids on the table for the fed cash cattle market, but no new trade has developed.
