While the ethanol industry reacted enthusiastically to a multi-year Renewable Fuel Standard proposal covering 2023 to 2025, the biodiesel industry expressed disappointment with EPA's proposed volumes that don't match current production.

A bipartisan group of 15 U.S. senators introduced legislation on Tuesday that would allow year-round E15 sales nationally.

With Congress just weeks away from the end of the lame-duck session, several agriculture, biofuels and petroleum interest groups ask leaders of the House and Senate to pass legislation to restore permanent year-round E15 sales.

The U.S. Energy Information Administration said ethanol blends rates for summer 2022 hit record high at 10.5%.

The EPA now expects to release a Renewable Fuel Standard volume proposal for 2023 by Nov. 30, as part of a consent decree with ethanol interest group Growth Energy.
