Spot Ethanol Prices Surge in NYH Amid Snow-Slowed Rail Shipments

Spot ethanol prices in the New York Harbor jumped to a one-month high Tuesday afternoon, as recent snowstorms in northern Pennsylvania continued to slow rail shipments from Chicago. A trade source said logistics have not improved since last week and product deliveries remain spotty.

Early January barge delivery in the New York Harbor were talked 11.0cts to 14.0cts over Chicago at $1.44 to $1.46 gallon, up 2.75cts on the session.

Prompt supply at Kinder Morgan-operated Argo terminal in the Chicago market were seen around at $1.32 while any January deliveries were seen $1.33 gallon, up 0.5cts.
