Spot ethanol prices weakened in Chicago and the New York Harbor cash markets on Monday under pressure from weak blending demand and slightly lower corn futures on the Chicago Board of Trade, but the losses were limited by a rally for New York Mercantile Exchange RBOB futures. Prompt supply ethanol at the Argo hub near Chicago was at $1.565 gallon, down 0.25cts, and October anys traded at $1.505 gallon. On the East Coast, October barged ethanol at the New York Harbor was pegged at $1.60 gallon, down 0.5cts on the session.
