Spot Ethanol Price Mixed as Snow Delays Product Deliveries

Spot ethanol prices were mixed Tuesday on worries delays in ethanol deliveries could cause shortages in certain hubs and excess supply in others.

Snow in the East Coast has slowed trucks and rail service and could prompt plants to reduce runs, sources said.

Prompt transferred ethanol at Argo was pegged at $1.39 to $1.41 per gallon, while February Argo ethanol prices traded at $1.40 per gallon, up 1.0 cents. Chicago ethanol traded under Rule 11 for this week shipment was unchanged at $1.36 to $1.39 per gallon bid/ask spread. New York Harbor February ethanol barges were discussed at $1.46 to $1.49 per gallon bid/ask, down 0.5 cent on the day. This week shipment ethanol in northern California was talked at a $1.50 to $1.52 per gallon bid/ask spread, up 2.5 cents.
