Argo, Calif. Spot Ethanol Values Lifted by Short Squeeze

Spot ethanol prices rallied Thursday on talk of a short squeeze in some regional markets and higher corn and gasoline prices.

Sources reported improved buying interest for prompt delivered product that led sellers to raise their offers in Chicago and California.

Prompt ethanol at Argo traded at $2.12 and $2.14 per gallon, up 5.5 cents. Prompt ethanol delivered to northern California was offered at $2.18 per gallon, up 7.0 cents on the day.
