Spot Ethanol Prices Edge Higher in Thin Early Trade
Spot ethanol prices were mostly higher during a thinly-traded Tuesday session as supply remains tight due to logistical woes.
Trade sources said many rail deliveries to regional hubs have been delayed, limiting prompt supply and resulting in a dearth of bids and offers in the cash market.
Prompt ethanol at the Argo hub was talked at a $2.15 to $2.19 per gallon bid/ask spread, up 1.5 cents, while prompt ethanol barge at the New York Harbor was pegged 0.5 cents higher at a $2.20 to $2.23 per gallon bid/ask spread.
