Spot ethanol prices were mixed in early trade, down a penny in the New York Harbor and California, while edging higher in the Argo terminal and in Chicago.

The lack of activity in most ethanol hubs across the country was in line with the lackluster corn market, said a trade source, adding that any downside for either corn or ethanol prices was limited by tight supply conditions.

The source said he expects data due on Wednesday to show stock draws for ethanol in the United States.
