Some of you may have heard that DTN was being sold. It's true, as of June 1 DTN/The Progressive Farmer and all other DTN-related properties are completely owned by TBG AG. TBG is a private, century-old, investment holding company headquartered in Zurich, Switzerland and is known for buying strong companies and investing in them to make them even stronger.

It's an exciting time around the DTN/PF offices. As DTN President Ron Sznaider said in announcing the sale's conclusion, "TBG provides strong and stable ownership that offers unmatched long-term investment and commitment to the DTN business. With this support, we intend to deliver new world-class solutions to the market to drive our domestic growth and international expansion plans, and to further enhance the DTN brand."

On the agriculture side of our business, which readers of this space are most familiar with, we never really changed. When we were purchased by Schneider Electric, many divisions of the company took on that company's brand, but it was quickly decided at the time that in farm country the DTN and The Progressive Farmer brands were well-known and respected, so they remained. We'll do the same under the new ownership, for the same reasons.

By the way, if you want to know more about all the things DTN does, check out www.DTN.com Many of our ag-industry customers don't know about the oil and gas, trading, transportation, sports and other industries where our weather, analytical and other skills are brought to bear.

While we are celebrating internally, things are mostly business as usual to you all. Our focus remains on the proprietary and industry-leading weather, markets, news and feature information that you've come to expect for more than 30 years. But stay tuned, there are big things to come!
