We continue to see very favorable conditions for harvesting soybeans and planting second crop corn in central Brazil. Progress is running ahead of last year.

There are no indications of an early end to the rainy season at this time; however, this is something to keep an eye on in March. Conditions remain good for filling soybeans in Rio Grande do Sul. We have seen some increase in rainfall recently in the dry areas of northeast Brazil (Bahia) which will be of some benefit to soybeans.

Conditions remain quite favorable for developing and filling corn and soybeans in the major growing areas of central Argentina. We have seen some recent increased rains in the double-crop soybean areas in southern Buenos Aires, with indications of some moderate-to-heavy rains during the next seven days. This will be very beneficial to the crop.
