DTN Weekly DDG Price Higher on Average
MINNEAPOLIS (DTN) -- The DTN spot price for domestic distillers dried grains (DDG) from 33 locations reporting for the week ended Dec. 11 was $161 per ton on average, up $3 versus one week ago.
DDG prices were mixed but higher on average again for the week, with the cash corn price slightly higher, while soybean meal prices were weaker, down $9.10 versus one week ago. As for cash corn, the DTN National Average Corn Index was up 1 cent versus one week ago.

Based on the average of prices collected by DTN, the value of DDG relative to corn for the week ended Dec 11 was 1.010%. The value of DDG relative to soybean meal was 53.29% and the cost per unit of protein for DDG was $5.96 compared to the cost per unit of protein for soybean meal at $6.36.
U.S. Grains Council, in its weekly distillers dried grains with solubles (DDGS) export market prices report, showed January prices as of Dec. 11: CIF NOLA barge price was up $4 at $219 metric ton (mt); FOB vessel Gulf price was up $2 at $237 mt; rail delivered PNW was up $17 at $284; and rail delivered to California was up $20 at $274 mt.
Ethanol production in the United States averaged 1.105 million barrels per day (bpd) during the week ended Dec. 3, down 21,000 bpd week-on-week and 2,000 bpd, or 0.2%, higher than in the same week last year, according to the Energy Information Administration. Four-week average output at 1.109 million bpd was 14,000 bpd above the same four weeks last year. Midwest ethanol production averaged 1.046 million bpd, down 22,000 bpd week-on-week and 1,000 bpd, or 0.1%, higher than in the same week last year. Four-week average output at 1.05 million bpd was 21,000 bpd above the same four weeks last year.
