DTN Weekly DDG Price Lower on Average
MINNEAPOLIS (DTN) -- The DTN spot price for domestic distillers dried grains (DDG) from 33 locations reporting for the week ended July 24 was $143 per ton on average, $1 lower versus one week ago.
DDG prices were mixed for the week, but lower on average again. The cash corn and soybean meal prices were slightly lower versus one week ago, while DDG demand remains soft. DTN's National Average Corn Index is down 3 cents versus one week ago.
Based on the average of prices collected by DTN, the value of DDG relative to corn for the week ended July 24 was 0.997%. The value of DDG relative to soybean meal was 53.02% and the cost per unit of protein for DDG was $5.30 compared to the cost per unit of protein for soybean meal at $5.68.

U.S. Grains Council, in its weekly distillers dried grains with solubles (DDGS) August export market prices report, showed as of July 24, CIF NOLA barge price was down $2 at $214 metric ton (mt); FOB vessel Gulf price was down $1 at $225 mt; rail delivered PNW was up $3 at $241; and rail delivered to California was up $6 at $237 mt.
The Energy Information Administration reported Wednesday for the week ended July 18 overall ethanol production in the United States averaged 1.081 million barrels per day (bpd), down 28,000 bpd week-on-week and 38,000 bpd, or 3.5% higher than in the same week last year. Four-week average output at 1.104 million bpd was 55,000 bpd above the same four weeks last year. Midwest ethanol production averaged 1.023 million bpd, down 29,000 bpd week-on-week and 36,000 bpd, or 3.5% higher than in the same week last year. Four-week average output at 1.045 million bpd was 54,000 bpd above the same four weeks last year.
