Spot Ethanol Prices Lower in Chicago on High Supply
Spot ethanol prices were mixed on Tuesday, with the Chicago cash market lower amid concern over excess regional supply. The Energy Information Administration's data for the week-ended Nov. 10 showed PADD 2 Midwest ethanol supply at 7.8 million bbl, 21.9% higher year-over-year.
Prompt delivered ethanol at the Argo terminal in the Chicago cash market was talked at a $1.365 to $1.37 per gallon bid/ask spread, down 1.5 cents. November barged ethanol in the New York Harbor was discussed at a $1.495 to $1.51 per gallon bid/ask spread, up 1.75 cents, boosted by export demand.
