Spot Ethanol Prices Boosted by Bullish EIA Report

Spot ethanol prices traded higher in Chicago and were discussed higher in New York Harbor and the Gulf Coast. This was after the Energy Information Administration reported domestic ethanol inventories fell 600,000 bbl to a seven-month low of 20.9 million bbl during the week-ended July 28, while blending demand rose 6,000 bpd to a five-week high of 951,000 bpd.

Prompt ethanol supply at Argo in the Chicago market traded at $1.55 per gallon, up 2.5 cents, while ethanol traded under Rule 11 terms for this week shipment was talked at a $1.505 to $1.535 per gallon bid/ask, up 1.5 cents.

August delivered ethanol by barge at the New York Harbor was talked at $1.625 per gallon, up 2.25 cents, while spot prices in Houston were talked at $1.625 per gallon, up 2.0 cents on the session.
