Spot Ethanol Prices again Lifted by Strong Demand

Spot ethanol values gained Thursday in Chicago and across the nation's major trade hubs on strong demand at home and abroad, with sources saying export demand is up. Ethanol supply in the Gulf Coast increased 300,000 bbl last week on the draw for exports, with product loaded in Houston to be sent to overseas destinations.

In cash trade, prompt delivered ethanol at the Argo supply hub in the Chicago market traded at $1.40 per gallon, up 2.63 cents. New York Harbor August ethanol barges traded at $1.4375 and $1.46 per gallon, up 2.0 cents. This week shipment of ethanol to northern California was talked at $1.555 per gallon for a 1.5-cents gain.
