Spot ethanol prices were flat to a tad higher in limited trade Friday, with prices in New York, Arizona and Chicago initially lifted for the second straight day on talk of supply shortages.

Prompt delivered physical ethanol at the Argo terminal traded at $1.465 per gallon and any-August Argo ethanol traded earlier at $1.48 per gallon, up 1.5 cents. August delivered ethanol barge at the New York Harbor was talked at a $1.52 to $1.55 per gallon bid/ask for a 0.5 cents gain. Arizona prompt delivered ethanol traded 1.0 cents higher, at $1.69 per gallon.
