Spot Ethanol Prices Lifted by Demand, Corn Futures Rally

Spot ethanol prices traded higher Thursday amid increased buying interest, while a weaker dollar and corn futures rally also supported price gains.

"The market appears to have recovered today helped by the fact that the dollar is weaker and corn is strong," said a source.

Prompt transfer ethanol at the Argo terminal near Chicago traded at $1.66 per gallon, up 1.0 cents, while any May Argo ethanol traded at $1.65 per gallon. On the West Coast, this week transfer ethanol in northern California traded at $1.86 per gallon and has since been pegged at $1.84 per gallon, up 3.0 cents, and Arizona ethanol traded 2.0 cents higher at $1.83 per gallon.
