Spot ethanol prices were mostly unchanged but Renewable Identification Numbers jumped as the market continued to react to the settlement between the Environmental Protection Agency and two major trade groups -- American Petroleum Institute and American Fuel and Petrochemical Manufacturers -- under which EPA would ensure a Nov. 30 deadline for setting renewable fuel blending mandates under the Renewable Fuel Standard for the upcoming year. 2014 D6 RINs traded 3.0cts higher at 75.0cts while 2015 D6 RINs traded up 3.25cts at 73.25cts. Prompt Argo ethanol was flat at $1.52 to $1.53 gallon while Chicago Rule 11 ethanol for this week shipment traded at $1.54 gallon.
