Spot Ethanol Prices Little Changed in Lackluster Session

Spot ethanol prices were little changed in thin trade on Monday as higher Chicago Board of Trade corn futures weighed against slightly lower New York Mercantile Exchange RBOB futures. Ethanol prices retreated at the end of last week on the prospect of more imports from Brazil after a sharp drop in Brazil's currency, the Real. Imports would worsen the supply glut, with inventories on Feb. 27 near a three-year high at 21.5 million bbl. Prompt Argo ethanol talked flat at a $1.41 to $1.42 gallon bid/ask. This week shipment for Chicago Rule 11 ethanol talked steady at a $1.44 to $1.48 gallon bid/ask. New York Harbor March barges penciled unchanged at $1.51 gallon.
