Spot Ethanol Prices Slump on Rising Weekly Inventories
Spot ethanol prices were talked lower across the nation's key trade hubs at midday Wednesday after federal data showed inventories of ethanol fuel increased nearly 800,000 bbl to a near two-year high of 18.845 million bbl while production and demand both fell last week.
Chicago ethanol traded under Rule 11 was talked at a $1.44 to $1.47 per gallon bid/ask, down 8 cents, while prompt Pacific Northwest ethanol prices were talked at a $1.50 to $1.55 per gallon bid/ask, down about 7 cents.
