Spot Ethanol Values Slide on Easing Supply Concerns

Spot ethanol prices tumbled Monday as weather-related logistical woes that shut plants and terminals last week have since eased and product deliveries are now being made to regional hubs.

"(There are) lots of issues out there but could be getting a bit better," said a trader. Prompt transfer ethanol at the Argo terminal near Chicago was talked at a $2.15 to $2.20 per gallon bid/ask, down 4.0 cents.

January-delivered New York Harbor ethanol barge was talked in a $2.35 to $2.40 per gallon bid/ask spread, down 3.5 cents. Pacific Northwest spot ethanol prices were talked at $2.58 to $2.62 per gallon, 7.5 cents lower, while prompt supply in Arizona was seen at $2.66 per gallon, down 2.0 cents.
