2013 D6 Renewable Identification Numbers eased in price this morning after the release Thursday of production volumes by the Environmental Protection Agency for April showing an increase in RIN generation for the month. The D6 decline in turn dragged down biomass-based diesel D4 RIN values.

The EPA reported under the EPA Moderated Transaction System that D6 renewable fuel production and RIN generation in April, which is primarily corn-based ethanol, was 1.0848 billion gallons and RINs, up from 1.033 billion gallons in March.

2013 D6 RINs at were talked at an 84.0 cents to 86.0 cents bid/ask range this morning. Thursday, D6 RINs traded from a high of 91.0 cents down to a low of 88.0 cents. 2013 D4 RINs are talked at a 94.0 cents to 97.0 cents bid/ask this morning, down from a trade late Thursday of 98.0 cents.

"The EMTS data yesterday was bearish," commented a broker, agreeing that the decline in D6 RIN prices dragged down D4 RINs.
