Spot ethanol prices were flat to slightly higher on the back of modest gains for Chicago Board of Trade corn futures and talk that supply is tight along the East and Gulf coasts. A lack of an adequate number of railcars has limited the amount of product shipment to the New York Harbor from Midwest plants. Values for tradable ethanol compliance credits also soared amid talk credit supply is probably limited, with D6 Renewable Identification Numbers for 2013 RINs traded early at 60 cents and was last discussed 70 cents, spiking 12 cents on the day.
