Spot ethanol prices were little changed in a thinly-traded session early Wednesday after federal data showed ethanol inventories were drawn down last week while demand and production by domestic plants both increased.

The Energy Information Administration's data detailed a 359,000 bbl draw in ethanol stocks to 19.854 million bbl for the week-ended Jan. 4, while output of the product from plants across the nation increased 19,000 bpd to 826,000 bpd last week and implied demand climbed 64,000 bpd to 714,000 bpd.
