Best test on heifers 550 to 599 lbs 3.00 higher. Good to very good demand for this offering of packages and loads of both home raised and backgrounded steers and heifers. A few packages and loads of replacement heifers met with very good demand. Varied quality, especially on packages, from plain to attractive. Flesh ranged from light to some heavy flesh at times and some fill at times also. An active market with the most activity on heifers to go back to the country. Warmer weather has made some muddy yard conditions, however, calves were clean and open haired today. Few feeder cattle expected next week and bred cattle on Thursday, February 26. TREND: The trend for March corn is sideways for now.

NONCOMMERCIAL OUTLOOK: Noncommercial corn traders held a net-short futures position of 18,330 contracts as of Feb. 10 and were net-buyers of 16,368 contracts during the CFTC reporting period as prices have rallied off lows set following the bearish January WASDE report.

COMMERCIAL OUTLOOK: Commercial corn traders held a net-long position of 37,338 contracts as of Feb. 10 and were net-sellers of 15,578 contracts through the CFTC reporting period. The March 2026 contract is priced 10 1/4 cents lower than the May 2026 contract, moving wider (more carry) through the week, to the highest degree of carry for the boards since early September. National average corn basis fell 1 cent...

It was a mixed day for the livestock complex as the futures market closed mostly lower, but the cash cattle complex saw some positive momentum ahead of the week's end. Northern dressed cattle traded at mostly $382, which is $4.00 higher than last week's weighted average and Southern live cattle traded at $248, which is also $4.00 higher than last week's weighted average.
