USDA Worthing, SD Slaughter Cattle Auction

USDA Worthing, SD Slaughter Cattle Auction 02/04 14:00 AMS_2016 MARS Sioux Falls Regional Livestock Auction - Worthing, SD Sioux Falls Regional Livestock-Worthing,SD Livestock Weighted Average Report for 02/04/2026 - Final Auction This Week Last Reported Last Year ------------------------------------------------------------ Total Receipts: ------------------------------------------------------------ SLAUGHTER GOATS 450 750 600 SLAUGHTER SHEEP/LAMBS 3115 2606 1522 REPLACEMENT GOATS 6 40 0 REPLACEMENT SHEEP/LAMBS 56 98 89 FEEDER SHEEP/LAMBS 86 68 71 SLAUGHTER CATTLE 1199 877 1231 Compared to last week: Slaughter steers and heifers 5.00 to 6.00 higher. Good demand for this nice offering of attractive, high quality grading, long time fed steers and heifers. Packer buyers were willing to give more money this week to buy cattle as last week's country trade topped out at 241.00. 3 full loads of steers, 7 full loads of heifers. Weighing condition ran from fair to full, cattle hides are packing a good amount of tag. The market was more active than it has been in recent weeks as the futures contracts have risen back above 240.00. Slaughter lambs under 120 lbs 40.00 to 50.00 higher, over 120 lbs 15.00 to 25.00 higher. Slaughter ewes 20.00 to 30.00 higher. Very good demand for all weights of slaughter lambs. Demand for slaughter ewes was very good as there were many buyers competing heavily and bidding aggressively to buy ewes. As the transportation issues seen last week, in the eastern part of the country have improved now, buyers were willing to chase the market higher to get the stock bought that they need. Good demand for feeder lambs, but the stronger demand for slaughter lambs led to few lambs going to feed. --------------------------------------------------------------- SLAUGHTER GOATS --------------------------------------------------------------- BUCKS/BILLIES -
