USDA Mitchell, SD Wtd Averages 12/11 16:25 AMS_2022 MARS Mitchell Livestock Auction - Mitchell, SD Mitchell Livestock Auction-Mitchell,SD Livestock Weighted Average Report for 12/11/2025 - Final Auction This Week Last Reported Last Year ------------------------------------------------------------ Total Receipts: ------------------------------------------------------------ FEEDER CATTLE 2585 2158 3896 Compared to last week: Light feeder steers up to 600 lbs. sold on a much higher undertone , 650-700 lbs. steers sold 20.00 higher, steers over 800 lbs. sold on a unevenly steady market. Heifer feeders up to 950 lbs. sold on a higher undertone, heifers 950-1000 lbs. sold 15 higher. Demand was good. The next feeder cattle auction will be Dec. 18th, ( this will be the last feeder cattle auction for 2025 ), expecting 2000-2500 head of feeders. MLM will be holding a roll over heifer sale on the 18th, for Val & Dawn Luckett, to help with medical bills. CORN Strategies Snapshot

TREND: The trend for March corn is sideways for now.

NONCOMMERCIAL OUTLOOK: Noncommercial corn traders held a net-long futures position of 120,900 contracts as of Nov. 18, an increase of 77,887 contracts during the CFTC reporting period.

COMMERCIAL OUTLOOK: Commercial corn traders held a net-short position of 84,962 contracts as of November 18, the most recent CFTC data. The March 2026 contract is priced 8 1/4 cents lower than the May 2026 contract, a spread that was slightly wider through the week. DTN's National Corn Index implies a corn basis of 41 cents under the March board, a penny firmer through the week.

The livestock complex rounded out the day mixed as the cattle contracts dipped lower, but the lean hog contracts continued to rally through the week's end. No new cash cattle trade was noted. March corn is down 5 3/4 cents per bushel and January soybean meal is up $0.40.
