Compared to last week:  Feeder steers 900-1000 lbs 5.00 to 10.00 higher, 1000 
lbs and heavier mostly steady.  Feeder heifers 850 lbs and over 7.00 to 10.00 
lower.  Moderate demand for yearling steers and heifers, as the CME Live Cattle 
futures is in the 210s and cash 220.00 and lower, cattle feeders are losing 
money on their outgoing fed cattle and struggling to find cattle that breakeven 
against the futures contracts.  Not many feeder cattle auctions to report this 
week, with the Labor Day weekend.  Feeder cattle producers are hesitant to sell 
yearlings as the market has backed up so much from it's highs this spring, some 
purchased yearlings are losing some money now.  Rain finally came to the state 
over the weekend, bringing large amounts to many areas, yet grass is too far 
too short for many producers and hay production was severely affected.  Larger 
feeder cattle auctions expected the next week as those droughted out the 
hardest need to move cattle.
